Esta pesquisa realizou um estudo de caso de duas oficinas de fotografia artesanal mediadas pelo educador e fotógrafo, Miguel Chikaoka no município do Rio de Janeiro. A partir de um olhar sobre o cotidiano das oficinas e do registro descritivo (texto e imagem), pude observar e investigar a prática de ensino de Chikaoka, assim como compreender quais principais categorias aparecem em suas propostas educativas. A pesquisa buscou compreender também, como a expressão de origem Zen budista, Mottainai, muito utilizada na cultura japonesa como um mantra do não desperdício se torna mote principal de sua metodologia, sendo intrínseca aos valores e filosofias que Chikaoka propõe-se disseminar, desvelando-se em métodos de ensinar, experimentar, vivenciar e aprender a fotografia artesanal.
This research carried out a case study of two workshops of handmade photography mediated by the educator and photographer, Miguel Chikaoka in the city of Rio de Janeiro. From a look at the daily activities of the workshops and the descriptive record (text and image), I could observe and investigate the Chikaoka teaching practice, as well as to understand which major categories appear in their educational proposals. The research also sought to understand, as the expression of Buddhist Zen origin, Mottainai, widely used in Japanese culture as a mantra of "non-waste" becomes the main motto of its methodology, being intrinsic to the values and philosophies that Chikaoka proposes to disseminate, unveiling themselves in methods of teaching, experiencing, experiencing and learning handmade photography.
