O objetivo deste trabalho é estudar a recepção realizada na Hospedaria de Imigrantes da Ilha das Flores aos refugiados no imediato pós-segunda guerra como parte integrante da política imigratória brasileira. Nesse sentido, procuramos analisar a recepção a partir de facetas diversas, observando as reformas, e os debates engendrados em torno destas, na estrutura física da hospedaria; a discussão verificada na imprensa sobre o refugiado ideal a imigrar para o Brasil, bem como propostas e apontamentos sobre os serviços desenvolvidos para sua recepção e, por fim, as narrativas memoriais construídas pelos refugiados que vivenciaram essa experiência sessenta anos atrás. Buscamos argumentar que a recepção ocupava uma centralidade nas discussões sobre a política imigratória, fato este que levou a uma série de reformas na estrutura física da hospedaria, tendo por meta realizar uma boa acolhida. Notadamente, a presença constante da hospedaria nas páginas dos jornais nos serve como parâmetro para observar o tema da recepção como aquele que era digno de ser reportado, analisado e publicizado. Em outras palavras, a hospedaria, e, por conseguinte a recepção, era destacada como etapa fundamental para a adaptação dos recém-chegados ao Brasil. Ademais, a recepção é destacada na memória daqueles que por lá passaram e, notadamente, as narrativas se mostraram positivadas, sobretudo pelas memórias de deslocamentos forçados. Fica-nos claro que a recepção aos refugiados no pós-segunda guerra estava presente nos debates que se publicizavam e ainda se fazem presentes nas memórias dos refugiados, dada a sua importância.
This work aims to study the reception which took place at Ilha das Flores Immigrant Inn to the refugees in the immediate post second world war as integrant part of Brazilian immigration policy. Thus, we are analysing the reception from different points of view, observing renovations to the physical structure of the place; the discussion verified by the press about the ideal refugee to come to Brazil, as well as the purposes and appointments about the services developed for the reception and, in the end, the memorial narratives which have been built by the refugees who lived those experiences sixty years ago. We also try to discuss the reception as a central position in the immigration policy. Because of this fact, the renovations were made in the building of the Inn, having target of offering the best accommodation to them. Notedly, the constant presence of the Inn in the newspapers and magazines pages is for us as a parameter to observe the reception theme as that which was important to be reported, analysed and published. In other words, the Inn and the reception were highlighted as fundamental steps to the adaptation of the newcomers to Brazil. Furthermore, the reception is highlighted in the memories of those who had been there and, notedly, the narratives showed to be positive especially because os the sad memories they have of the forced displacements. It is clear for us the reception offered to the refugees in the post second war was present in those discussions which were published and still present in the refugees memories, because your importance.
