The Historical Amazonian Archaeology Group - GAhIA aims to study the traces of material culture from various social, ethnic, gender, and generation segments present in historical period archaeological sites in the Amazon region. The group also seeks to participate in existing or future research or outreach projects at the university. By sharing knowledge, the group aims to be involved in other research in the region, as well as to facilitate participation from different areas on this topic. Another important goal is to provide support for the creation of projects for undergraduate and post-graduate students. The group also aims to contribute to the formation of researchers and research themes at the university, which is an important point of continuity and support for all proposed interests. The group also intends to compile the results obtained through scientific articles and specialized publications.
