The group's research activities focus more on three themes, with joint publications with international partners: (i) Advanced manufacturing systems; (ii) Logistics and supply chain management; and (iii) Project management. In the first theme, the main theoretical edge was advanced process control methods based mainly on machine-learning, cellular manufacturing and group technology, chaotic models, complex models, and fuzzy logic. In the second, performance measurement and control methods, complexity measurement, demand forecasting based on chaotic methods, and green performance analysis and measurement models in supply chains. In third, advanced methods of managing projects and innovation in large enterprises. There was a significant advance in international publications in highly cited, top journals during the period.
