Before being renamed, the Quantitative Methods and Predictive Psychometrics Laboratory (MePP) was founded in 2009 with the name Research Group on Instruments and Measures (NIM). Our main goal was to develop, adapt, and validate research instruments for different fields, such as Psychology, Education, Management, Health, among others. More recently, the MePP started to develop research based not only in psychometric techniques, but also in algorithms from Machine Learning being used to predict behaviours and improve the consequential validity of psychological measures. Several papers were already published in national and international journals by members of the team. Also, international collaborative partnerships have been established in order to develop future trailblazing studies focused on the development of new instruments and psychometric methods to be applied into different fields.
