Edson Bruno Marques Costa

Edson B. M. Costa is a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Coimbra Portugal, working in the Computational Intelligence and Control Group (CIC) of the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR-UC). He received the M.Sc. degree in Automation and Control from Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA) and the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Instituto Federal do Maranhão (IFMA). He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering of the IFMA where he is currently a sabbatical professor. He is a reviewer of Advances in Mechanical Engineering, Ad-Hoc reviewer of the PROPESQ-IFPE (volunteer) and several national and international congresses. His research interests include: computational and artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, intelligent control, predictive control, fault-tolerant control, machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, fuzzy systems, neural networks, mobile and aerial robotics, robot manipulators control, industrial and complex systems, predictive control and fault-tolerant control.

Edson B. M. Costa é candidato a doutor em Automação e Robótica pela Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal) trabalhando no grupo de Controle e Inteligência Computacional do Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica (ISR-UC). Recebeu o título de mestre em Automação e Controle pela Universidade Federal do Maranhão e de Engenheiro Eletricista pelo Instituto Federal do Maranhão (IFMA). Atualmente é professor no IFMA, onde atuou como coordenador do curso de Engenharia Elétrica entre 2016 a 2018, e ministra aulas nas áreas de automação, controle e sistemas inteligentes. Desenvolve pesquisa em colaboração com o grupo GECAD do Instituto Politécnico do Porto/Portugal (IPP-PT) nas áreas de detecção de falhas e manipulação em Redes Elétricas Inteligentes (Smart Grids) no âmbito de acordo internacional de Dupla Titulação entre o IPP (PT) e IFMA (BR). Os principais campos de interesse são: controle tolerante a falhas, controle inteligente, sistemas de detecção e identificação de falhas, indústria 4.0, inteligência artificial e computacional, robótica e aprendizagem de máquina. É revisor de revistas científicas internacionais e de diversas conferências.
