Adriana Maria Tenuta de Azevedo

Adriana M. Tenuta de Azevedo graduated in Portuguese and English (1984), is Mester in Linguistics (1992) and has a PhD in Linguistic Studies (2005) by UFMG, (Federal University of Minas Gerais) with internship at the University of Portsmouth, UK. She is a Professor at FALE (Faculdade de Letras), UFMG, since 1994, and at PosLin (Post-graduatiion Program in Linguistic Studies) since 2010. She does research in Theoretical and Descriptive Linguistics, under the functional ans cognitive perspectives, focusiing on the following themes: narrative analysis related to the processes of attention and focus; grammatical analysis of Portuguese and English, and the teaching of grammar.

Possui graduação em Português e Inglês (1984), mestrado em Linguística (1992), e doutorado em Estudos Linguísticos (2005), pela UFMG, com estágio sanduiche na Universidade de Portsmouth, Inglaterra. É professora da Faculdade de Letras (FALE) da UFMG desde 1994 e atua no Programa de Pós-graduação em Estudos Linguísticos (Poslin) desde 2010. Desenvolve pesquisa em Linguística Teórica e Descritiva, nas perspectivas funcional e cognitiva, sendo temas de pesquisa de interesse: análise de narrativas relacionada a processos de foco e atenção; análise gramatical do português e do inglês; questões relacionadas ao ensino de gramática.
