Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and Urbanism (1991) and a Master's Degree in Architecture (1998) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul ? UFRGS. Got a PhD Degree in Civil Engineering (2009) from Campinas State University - UNICAMP (São Paulo). Had been a teacher in the course of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos from 1996 to 2010 and a researcher and advisor in the Master's Degree Program in Strategic Design from the School of Design at Unisinos. She has also worked since 2007 as a guest in the Chronobiology Research Group at Clínicas Hospital, in Porto Alegre. She had also run her architecture office from 1993 until 2010 that was oriented toward interior and lighting design with a constant focus on people's comfort and wellbeing. In the meantime, she is a professor from the Architecture Department at Faculty of Architecture of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She is a permanent professor of Architecture Research and Graduation Program-PROPAR. Her studies are focused on the influence of lighting on people (user based research) and she is the head of ?Quality, Efficiency and Technology of the Built Environment? research group. In 2014 she was a Guest professor/researcher for ?Human-centered Lighting Design?at Detmolder Schule für Architektur und Innenarchitektur, a department of Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (HS OWL), University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

Possui graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo (FAU-UFRGS), Mestrado em Arquitetura (PROPAR-UFRGS) e Doutorado em Engenharia Civil (FEC-UNICAMP). É professora Associada III e pesquisadora na Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, onde é docente permanente do Programa de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação em Arquitetura - PROPAR. Após vinte anos de prática profissional em seu escritório de arquitetura de interiores, atualmente dedica-se apenas as atividades acadêmicas. Seu foco principal de estudo é o bem estar de usuários nos espaços construídos, com ênfase nas relações da luz com o espaço e o homem. Coordena o Grupo de pesquisa Qualidade, Eficiência e Tecnologia do Ambiente Construído registrado no diretório do Cnpq desde 2013. Coordenou o Laboratório de Conforto Ambiental da FAU-UFRGS entre 2019 e 2021. Tem trabalhos publicados em diversos periódicos e congressos nacionais e internacionais.
