Lenon Campos Maschette

Bachelor in History from the University of São Paulo (2010) and a Master in History of Ideas from Birkbeck College, University of London (2016). PhD in Social History from the University of São Paulo (2022), with an internship abroad at Lancaster University and King's College London (2019/2020). During his doctorate he dedicated himself to the study of the concept of citizenship in British Conservative governments, analyzing how the New Right (neoliberal and neoconservative) transformed the meaning of citizenship and civil society, rights and duties, and the role of the State. Currently he is researching the ideological relations between neoliberalism and the rise of the Brazilian and British far-right.

Possui graduação em História pela Universidade de São Paulo (2010) e mestrado em História das Ideias pela Birkbeck College, University of London (2016). Doutor em História Social pela Universidade de São Paulo (2022), com estágio no exterior na Universidade de Lancaster e no King's College London (2019/2020). Durante o doutorado se dedicou ao estudo do conceito de cidadania nos governos conservadores britânico, tendo analisado como a Nova Direita (neoliberal e neoconservadora) transforrmou o significado de cidadania e sociedade civil, direitos e deveres, e o papel do Estado. Atualmente pesquisa as relações ideológicas entre neoliberalismo e a ascensão da extrema direita brasileira e britânica. Faz parte da rede internacional de pesquisa Direitas, História e Memória, e é membro do Conservatism Studies Group da Political Studies Association.
