Graduated from the University of Pernambuco in Medicine (1994). Medical esidency in Internal Medicine (1995-1997) and in Rheumatology (1997-1999), obtaining her specialization degree in Rheumatology in 1999. Master's degree in Internal Medicine from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2003) and a Ph.D. in Public Health from the Aggeu Magalhães Research Center (2008). Assocated professor of Rheumatology at the Federal University of Pernambuco, currently serving as the Teaching and Research Manager at the Hospital das Clínicas at UFPE. Past coordinator of the Medical Residency Program at HC/UFPE from 2013 to 2017 and the coordinator of the Rheumatology discipline at HC/UFPE from 2012 until 2018. Currently coordinates the Brazilian study of COVID-19 in patients with rheumatic diseases (ReumaCoV Brazil) and is a member of the Spondyloarthritis and Education committees of the Brazilian Society of Rheumatology.
É formada em Medicina pela Universidade de Pernambuco (1994). Fez residência médica em Medicina Interna (1995-1997) e em Reumatologia (1997-1999), obtendo título de especialista em Reumatologia em 1999. Tem mestrado em Medicina Interna pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2003) e doutorado em Saúde Publica pelo Centro de Pesquisas Aggeu Magalhães (2008). Professora adjunta da disciplina de reumatologia da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, atualmente está atuando como Gerente de Ensino e Pesquisa do Hospital das Clínicas da UFPE. Foi coordenadora da Residência Médica do HC/UFPE de 2013 a 2017 e da disciplina de reumatologia do HC/UFPE de 2012 até 2018. Coordena atualmente o estudo brasileiro de COVID-19 em pacientes com doenças reumáticas (ReumaCoV Brasil) e é membro da comissão de espondiloartrites e da comissão de ensino da sociedade Brasileira de Reumatologia.
