Mariane Rembold Petraglia

Mariane R. Petraglia graduated in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Electronics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 1985. She obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1988 and 1991, respectively. From January 1992 to January 1993, she was an Extraordinary Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. She is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering at the Polytechnic School of UFRJ, where she has been teaching on an exclusive basis since April 1993, also working in the Electrical Engineering Program at COPPE (PEE / COPPE). From January 2008 to February 2009, and from May 2018 to June 2020, she was Academic Coordinator at PEE/COPPE. From March 2001 to February 2002, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Adaptive Systems Laboratory at the University of California, Los Angeles, and from January 2013 to December 2014, she was a visiting fellow at the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California. She was associate editor of the IEEE journal Transactions on Signal Processing for the 2005-2007 and 2019-2021 biennia. She has served as a reviewer for the journals IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, Electronics Letters, Signal Processing, and others. She participated in the organizing committees of the Chip in Rio 2007 and ICA 2009 conferences. She supervised 44 master's dissertations and 18 doctoral theses in different areas of Signal Processing. She participated in the FAPERJ/DFG bilateral cooperation project with RWTH Aachen University, Germany, from 2020 to 2022. She is currently coordinator of the subcommittee Empowerment, Awareness, Communications and Visibility of the IEEE Women in Signal Processing (WISP). She was honored, for her professional career, by the IEEE SPS Chapter and IEEE Affinity Group of Women in Engineering at Unicamp (IEEE WIE Unicamp) in October 2015. She is a member of the American honor society Tau Beta Pi, and a senior member of the Instituto de Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His main lines of research are adaptive filtering, multirate processing, blind source separation, neural networks and computer vision.

Mariane R. Petraglia graduou-se em Engenharia Elétrica com ênfase em Eletrônica pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) em 1985. Obteve os títulos M.Sc. e Ph.D. em Engenharia Elétrica pela University of California, Santa Barbara, em 1988 e 1991, respectivamente. De janeiro de 1992 a janeiro de 1993 foi Professora Extraordinária do Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. Atualmente é Professora Titular no Departamento de Engenharia Eletrônica da Escola Politécnica da UFRJ, onde é docente em regime de dedicação exclusiva desde abril de 1993, atuando também no Programa de Engenharia Elétrica da COPPE (PEE/COPPE). De janeiro de 2008 a fevereiro de 2009, e de maio de 2018 a junho de 2020, foi Coordenadora Acadêmica do PEE/COPPE. De março de 2001 a fevereiro de 2002, realizou pós-doutorado no Adaptive Systems Laboratory da University of California, Los Angeles, e de janeiro de 2013 a dezembro de 2014, foi pesquisadora visitante no Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering da University of Southern California. Foi editora associada do periódico IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing nos biênios 2005-2007 e 2019-2021. Tem servido como revisora dos periódicos IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, Electronics Letters, Signal Processing, dentre outros. Participou das comissões organizadoras das conferências Chip in Rio 2007 e ICA 2009. Orientou 44 dissertações de mestrado e 18 teses de doutorado em diferentes áreas de Processamento de Sinais. Participou do projeto de cooperação bilateral FAPERJ/DFG com a RWTH Aachen University, Alemanha, de 2020 a 2022. É atualmente coordenadora do subcomitê Empowerment, Awareness, Communications and Visibility do IEEE Women in Signal Processing (WISP). Foi homenageada, por sua trajetória profissional, pelo Capítulo IEEE SPS e Grupo de Afinidade IEEE de Mulheres na Engenharia da Unicamp (IEEE WIE Unicamp) em outubro de 2015. É membro da sociedade de honra americana Tau Beta Pi, e membro sênior do Instituto de Engenheiros Elétricos e Eletrônicos (IEEE). Suas principais linhas de pesquisa são: filtragem adaptativa, processamento multitaxa, separação cega de fontes, redes neurais e visão computacional.
