Carlos Henrique Caprio

Agronomic engineer and master in Genetics and Pant breeding by the São Paulo State University (UNESP) Júlio de Mesquita Filho, Campus of Jaboticabal, state of São Paulo (SP). He has experience with Seed Production and Technology, specifically in the evaluation of the physiological potential of seeds by vigor tests, under orientation during the graduation period by professor Ph.D Roberval Daiton Vieira. He completed an internship at the University of Kentucky (USA) in 2012 under the guidance of researcher Ph.D Robert Miller, working with Tobacco Plant Breeding. He already developed and assisted in projects in the Laboratory of Seed Analysis (Plant Production Department) located at UNESP of Jaboticabal. He completed a traineeship at the company Dow AgroSciences in Jardinópolis-SP (2014), where he developed and concluded projects with maize seed treatment, as well as created a value flow map jointly with the unit of Commercial Seed Processing of the company. He participated of Integration Company-University Group (GIEU) during the year 2011 under the terms of Journal Director and General Secretary. Since 2016 he has been part of the organizing committee and coordination (2018 and 2019) of the Genetics Winter Course of UNESP of Jaboticabal. He is currently a Ph.D student in Genetics and Plant Breeding at UNESP of Jaboticabal, where he develops a project in the area of phytopathology working with the oomycete Bremia lactucae, aiming to develop methods for cryopreservation of these microorganisms, monitoring the pathogen behaviors (races) and also evaluating commercial cultivars of lettuce. He already work in University of California, Davis, with population genomics of downy mildew, pioneering work for brazilian isolates, and head the creation of kill curves for isolates of B. lactucae in relation with registered fungicides for this pathogen.

graduation at Engenharia Agronômica from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2014). Has experience in Agronomy, acting on the following subjects: germinação, melhoramento de plantas, curso de inverno, teor de água and atmosfera controlada.
