Thiago Rodrigues dos Santos

I have a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Santo Amaro (2008), Masters (2012) and PhD (2017) in Plant Biodiversity and Environment from the Botany Institute. I have experience in the field of Ecology, with emphasis on Ecology of aquatic ecosystems, working mainly in the following subjects: ecology of shallow reservoirs and ecology of algae, especially periphytic algae. My interest is to understand the role of periphytic algae in tropical aquatic ecosystems and the interrelation of this community with other organisms present in the ecosystem.

Possuo graduação em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade de Santo Amaro (2008), mestrado (2012) e doutorado (2017) em Biodiversidade Vegetal e Meio Ambiente pelo Instituto de Botânica. Tenho experiência na área de Ecologia, com ênfase em Ecologia de ecossistemas aquáticos, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: ecologia de reservatórios rasos e ecologia de algas, especialmente algas perifíticas. O meu interesse é compreender a função das algas perifíticas no ecossistemas de aquáticos tropicais e a inter-relação desta comunidade com os demais organismos presentes no ecossistema.
