João Marcelo Brazão Protázio

I am Bachelor in Applied and Computational Mathematics (UNICAMP, 1999-2000, Brazil), Master in Petroleum Science and Engineering (UNICAMP, 2001-2002, Brazil), Doctor in Natural Sciences (Leibniz Zentrum für Marine Tropenforschung, Universität Bremen, 2002- 2007, Germany) and Post-Doctorate at the Max-Planck Institute for Ornithology (MPIO, 2015-2016, Germany). I am currently Associate Professor IV at the Faculty of Statistics at the Federal University of Pará and Vice-Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Mathematics and Statistics (2021-2024) and of the Mathematical-Statistical Modeling Laboratory (LAMEM, UFPA). He has experience in the area of Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Additionally, I am a Research Collaborator at the Universidad Juarez del Estado de Durango (Durango, Mexico), at the Leibniz Zemtrum for Marine Tropical Research (Bremen, Germany) and President of the Brazil-Germany Network for the Internationalization of Higher Education (REBRALINT, 2023-2025), an entity created in 2017 with the support of DAAD (Bonn, Germany).

Sou Bacharel em Matemática Aplicada e Computacional (UNICAMP, 1999-2000, Brasil), Mestre em Ciências e Engenharia de Petróleo (UNICAMP, 2001-2002, Brasil), Doutor em Em Ciências Naturais (Leibniz-Zentrum für Marine Tropenforschung, Universität Bremen, 2002-2007, Alemanha) e Pós-Doutorado no Institute Max-Planck for Ornithology (MPIO, 2015-2016, Alemanha). Atualmente sou Professor Associado IV da Faculdade de Estatística da Universidade Federal do Pará e Vice-Coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Matemática e Estatística (2021-2024) e do Laboratório de Modelamento Matemático-Estatístico (LAMEM, UFPA). Possuo experiência na área de Matemática e Estatística Aplicadas. Adicionalmente é Pesquisador Colaborador da Universidade Juarez del Estado de Durango (México) e Presidente da Rede Brasil-Alemanha para Internacionalização do Ensino Superior (REBRALINT, 2023-2025), entidade criada com o apoio do DAAD (Serviço Alemão de Intercâmbio Acadêmico).
