Pedro Rennó Marinho

Doutorando em Direito desde 2023, Pedro Rennó é escritor, defensor público federal desde 2015, advogado e bacharel em direito pela UERJ desde 2011 (intercâmbio em graduação Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas), mestre em ciências jurídicas pela PUC-RIO em 2019.Publicou 8 livros em direitos e humanidades, o último tendo título Ocupações Performativas: Corpos em Aliança contra o Estado Agente de Despejos, pela Editora Dialética.Pela Defensoria, atuou como defensor regional de direitos humanos no Amazonas e em Roraima, além de ter coordenado grupos nacionais de trabalho da Defensoria nas temáticas Identidade de Gênero e Cidadania LGBTI, Moradia e Conflitos Fundiários, Pessoas Idosas e Pessoas com Deficiência, com incidências no STF, STJ, CNJ, Executivo e Legislativo Federais, e Corte Interamericana de Direitos Humanos e Conselho Nacional de Direitos Humanos - CNDH.Foi membro da comissão de redação e revisão, e defendeu perante o plenário do Conselho Nacional de Direitos Humanos - CNDH a Res. 10/2018/CNDH, sobre medidas preventivas e reparadoras de violações de direitos humanos para populações ameaçadas de despejo forçado.Academicamente, junto à PUC-RIO, compôs o Núcleo de Direitos Humanos como pesquisador voluntário, o Grupo de Pesquisa Gênero e Democracia como membro, além de ter coordenado por dois anos o Grupo Permanente de Estudos em Sistema Interamericano.Atualmente, é titular do 3o Ofício Criminal do Rio de Janeiro da Defensoria Pública da União.Trabalha com os idiomas português, inglês, francês e espanhol, com especial interesse em teoria crítica, literária e do direito, educação libertadora em direitos para titulares de direitos ameaçados e público leigo, direitos sociais e de participação democrática efetiva, processo normativo colaborativo e horizontalizado, e defesa criminal.

Law Ph.D. (2023). Pedro Rennó is a writer, federal public defender since 2015, lawyer and bachelor in law since 2011 (UERJ, exchange program student with Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas), and master in legal sciences (PUC-RIO 2019).With eight books published in Law and Humanities, he currently acts as a Criminal Federal Public Defender to the population of Rio de Janeiro.He works in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish, particularly in critical, literary, and legal theory, liberating education in advocacy for threatened populations and the general public, social rights and effective democratic participation, collaborative and horizontalized normative process, and criminal defense.For the Public Defender's National Office, he served as a regional defender of human rights in Amazonas and Roraima (2015-2017), in addition to having coordinated national working groups (since 2015) in the themes of Gender Identity and LGBTQIA+ Citizenship, Housing, and Land Conflicts, Elderly Persons and Persons with Disabilities. These lead to experience advocating in Brazil's Supreme Court (STF, the national constitutional court), High Federal Legal Court (STJ), National Council for Justice, National Executive and Legislative branches, and The Inter American System of Human Rights, and National Human Rights Council - CNDH.The Federal or National Public Defender's Office is a constitutional branch of Brazil's State, with the double mission of providing free legal aid to everyone who can't pay for the service in all units of the federal public system of administration and justice, as well as advocating for human rights alongside anyone afflicted by any form of violence, be it state, climate, or economic, and open to any population that faces race, class, gender, migrative, xenophobic, i. e., to any unlawful or undignified biased violence or discrimination. This specific profile of advocacy, from legal aid to the general public, going to institutional and international cooperation guarantees the broad branch of international collaboration established by the institution.Academically, at PUC-RIO, he was a volunteer researcher in the Center for Human Rights and a member of the Research Group on Gender and Democracy. Besides teaching courses in Human Rights and Introduction to Law, he coordinated for two years the Permanent Study Group on the Inter-American System, a period in which the team developed a report on Rio de Janeiro's State incarceration scenario and a manual with means to enforcing human rights in the system.
