Sílvia Helena Mori Faria de Moraes Basílio

Graduated in Portuguese and English and their respective literatures at the State University of Maringá in 1999, where she also achieved her Master Degree in Applied Linguistics based on the teaching of Portuguese as a mother language in 2003. Currently working as an English teacher at the Foreign Language Institute at the same university, where she also excels in dealing with multicultiral scenarios and people. She represents the university in reaching connections and agreements between UEM and other universities abroad as a member of their International Affairs Office. She has also worked as a professor at Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Jandaia do Sul teaching Engllish and Applied Linguistics in the teaching of Foreign Languages. In general, she very well covers the domain of foreign language teaching, including Portuguese as a foreign language, which she has also taught at Missouri State University (USA) launching the project "Portuguese for the world" which sealed the agreemnt between the two institutions.

Possui graduação em Letras Português/Inglês pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (1999), onde também concluiu seu mestrado em Linguística Aplicada ao ensino de Língua Portuguesa/Língua Materna em 2003. No momento atua como professora do Instituto de Línguas da Universidade Estadual de Maringá e como intermediadora de contatos e acordos com instituições estrangeiras através de serviços prestados ao Escritório de Cooperação Internacional da UEM. Já foi também professora titular da Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Jandaia do Sul onde ministrou as disciplinas de Língua Inglesa e literaturas correspondentes, assim como Linguística Aplicada ao Ensino de Língua Estrangeira. Tem vasta experiência na área de ensino de línguas estrangeiras em geral, inclusive o de Língua Portuguesa como tal. em função disso foi convidada à ministrar aulas na Missouri State University (EUA) inaugurando o primeiro semestre de PLE na UEM e MSU.
