Dr Felipe Meneguzzi is a researcher on multiagent systems, agent reasoning, automated planning and machine learning. He is currently an Associate Professor at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul. Prior to that, Dr Meneguzzi worked as a Project Scientist in Multiagent Systems at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University until 2012 after completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the same university with Professor Katia Sycara.
Dr Meneguzzi obtained his PhD degree at King's College London (2009), with a thesis on Extending agent languages for multiagent domains under the supervision of Professor Michael Luck. At King's he was part of the Agents and Intelligent Systems Group. Dr Meneguzzi started his studies at the University of Southampton in 2005, and moved to King's College London in September of 2006. Dr Meneguzzi has an MSc in Computer Science from PPGCC/PUCRS (2003), where he also obtained a BSc degree in Computer Science (2001). Before starting a full-time academic career, Dr Meneguzzi worked in the industry as a contractor for Hewlett-Packard Brazil.
Felipe has chaired the AAAI Symposium on Proactive Assistant Agents (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/paa-2010/), and serve in the programme committee of conferences as IJCAI (the premier conference on AI), AAMAS (the premier conference on Multiagent Systems), PRIMA and EUMAS. Moreover, Dr Meneguzzi regularly reviews for journals such as: Knowledge Engineering Review (KER), Theoretical Computer Science (TCS) and Journal of Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (JAAMAS).
É pesquisador na área de sistemas multiagentes, raciocínio autônomo, planejamento automático e aprendizado de máquina. Atualmente é professor adjunto na Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul e líder do Grupo de Pesquisa em Inteligência Artificial. É membro do conselho executivo da AAAI, e da Comissão Especial de Inteligência Artificial da SBC. Antes da sua posição atual, trabalhou como Project Scientist em Sistemas Multiagentes no Robotics Institute da Carnegie Mellon University até 2012 após completar pós-doutorado na mesma instituição.
Dr Meneguzzi possui Doutorado em Ciência da Computação pelo King's College London (2009), com tese intitulada Extending agent languages for multiagent domains sob orientação do Professor Dr Michael Luck. Dr Meneguzzi iniciou seu doutoramento na University of Southampton em 2005, tendo mudado para o King's College London em Setembro de 2006. Dr Meneguzzi possui Mestrado em Ciência da Computação [e;p PPGCC/PUCRS (2003), onde também se formou com o grau de Bacharel em Ciência da Computação (2001).
Felipe organizou o AAAI Symposium on Proactive Assistant Agents (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/paa-2010/), e serve no programme committee de conferências como AAAI e IJCAI (as mais importantes no campo de IA), AAMAS e ICAPS (as mais importantes nos campos de agentes e planejamento), PRIMA e EUMAS. Além disto, Dr Meneguzzi é revisor regular de revistas tais como: Knowledge Engineering Review (KER), Theoretical Computer Science (TCS) e Journal of Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (JAAMAS).
Felipe é pesquisador PQ Nível 2 do CNPq e recebeu um Google Research Award for Latin America em 2016, tendo sido um dos quatro finalistas das Microsoft Research Awards em 2013. Seus interesses de pesquisa atuais incluem reconhecimento de planos, planejamento híbrido e raciocínio normativo.
