Andrea Copeliovitch has a B.A. in Performing Arts at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1992), concluded her M.A. in Performing Arts at Universidade de São Paulo (1998) and her PhD in Poetics at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2005), with a Post doctorate at CEAQ (Université Paris V/ Sorbonne) and a second post-doctoral research at Universidade do Porto. She is an associate professor at the Fluminense Federal University (Dance and Performing Arts). She directed the dance company Gaya Contemporary Dance until 2009 and currently directs the online performance group Estudos da Peste, and she coordinates two research projects: Theatre: creation, resistance and language on stage; Language, Art and Buddhism. She has experience in Arts, with emphasis on acting and physical Theatre, working mainly on the following themes: dance, Brazilian Dances, acting, Theatre, presence, language and ritual.
