Leonardo Augusto Verde Reis Charréu

Graduation in Fine Arts (Painting) by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (1990). Master's Degree in Art History from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1995). PhD. in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, Spain (2004) and Educational Sciences from the University of Évora. He is currently Adjunct Professor at the Higher Education School of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (ESELX / IPL). In this Institution he works in the undergraduate couses in Visual Arts and Technologies and in the Master in Arts Education.He was a visiting professor at the University of Barcelona, Spain, between 2007 and 2010. He taught at the University of Évora (1994-2016) and the Federal University of Santa Maria, RS, Brazil( 2013-2016). He is a researcher at the Center for Research and Studies in Fine Arts, the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (CIEBA) and the Interdisciplinary Center for Educational Research (CIED / ESELX / IPL). He is also researcher collaborator in the Group of Studies and Researches in Art, Education and Culture, (GEPAEC) of the Education Center of the Federal University of Santa Maria. In this group he coordinated the NEPIC (Nucleus of Studies and Research in Scientific Illustration).He develops research in the area of Education and Arts, with emphasis on Visual Arts Education, mainly in the following subjects: Teacher Education in Visual Arts Education, Visual Culture, Critical Pedagogy in Visual Arts, Art and Cognition (scientific illustration and observation drawing) and Arts-Based Research Methodologies.

Licenciado em Artes Plásticas (Pintura) pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto (1990). Mestre em História da Arte pela Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1995). Doutor em Belles Arts pela Universitat de Barcelona, Espanha (2004) e Doutor em Ciências da Educação pela Universidade de Évora. Atualmente é Professor Adjunto da Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa (ESELX/IPL). Nesta Instituição atua na Graduação nos cursos de Licenciatura em Artes Visuais e Tecnologias e no Mestrado em Educação Artística. Foi professor visitante na Universidade de Barcelona, Espanha, entre 2007 e 2010. Lecionou na Universidade de Évora (1994-2016) e na Universidade Federal de Santa maria, RS Brasil. (2013-2016). É investigador no Centro de Investigação e Estudos em Belas Artes, da Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa (CIEBA) e do Centro Interdisciplinar de Investigação Educacional (CIED/ESELX/IPL). É também pesquisador colaborador no Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Arte, Educação e Cultura, (GEPAEC) do Centro de Educação da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Neste grupo coordenou o NEPIC (Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Ilustração Científica).Desenvolve pesquisa na área de Educação e Artes, com ênfase em Educação das Artes Visuais, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Formação de Professores e Educadores de Artes Visuais, Cultura Visual, Pedagogia Crítica em Artes Visuais, Arte e Cognição (ilustração científica e desenho de observação) e Metodologias de Pesquisa Baseadas na Arte.
