Professor Socrates Egito got his Maser and Ph.D. at the Universite de Paris XI, France, and did three Visitor-Professor Programs, at the University of Georgia, USA, in 2001, at the University of Florida, in 2011 and at The University of Iowa, in 2019. Actually, he holds a Complementary Visitor Professor Assignment at the University of Georgia. He is a Researcher Fellow of the CNPq, Level 1D, since 2008; Member of the Boarding Evaluation Committee for Graduation Programs at the CAPES in the field of Medicine II; Member of the Ad Hoc Consulting Board of the INEP for evaluation for Pharmacy Colleges and Coordinator of the Graduation Program in Health Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). He joined the Department of Pharmacy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil, in 1995n where he became Professor on Pharmaceutics in 2012 and Director of the LaSiD (Laboratory of Dispersed Systems) since 1996. Prof. Egito?s research activity focuses on drug formulation for insoluble compounds, mainly pharmaceutical nanotechnology. His main interests are not only orphan drugs, such as Amphotericin B and Penicillin G Benzathine, but also new entities such as cannabidiol, Tadalafil, Sildenafil, and Curcumin. His research team is composed of 32 people (pos-docs, Ph.D. students, Master students, Young Scientist students, and Undergraduate students). He has advised more than 29 Ph.D. Thesis, 49 Masters?, 103 Undergraduate theses, and 96 Young Scientists on the field of Pharmacy and correlated areas. He has published more than 150 papers on scientific journals and give more than 480 speeches in scientific meetings.

Bolsista de Produtividade do CNPQ, Nível 1D. Membro da Comissão de Avaliação da Pós-graduação na CAPES, área de Medicina II e Coordenador da Pós-Graduação em Ciências da Saúde (Nível 5-Capes). Atualmente é Professor Titular em Tecnologia Farmacêutica da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte e responsável pelo Laboratório de Sistemas Dispersos, com uma equipe de 32 alunos de Iniciação Científica, Mestrado e Doutorado e dois Pós-docs. Orientou 29 teses de Doutorado, 49 dissertações de Mestrado, 63 trabalhos de Iniciação Científica e 56 Trabalhos de Conclusão de Curso nas áreas de Farmácia e afins. Publicou mais de 150 artigos em periódicos especializados e 480 trabalhos em anais de eventos.
