Cloves Luiz Pereira Oliveira

He holds a degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBa) (1988), a specialization in Latin American Studies and a Masters in Sociology - University of Pittsburgh - USA (1995) and PhD in Political Science from the University Research Institute of Rio de Janeiro (2007). He currently holds post-doctoral studies at the UFMG (March / 2019-20) and the University of Delaware (UD), Newark - USA (Oct-Nov / 2019) undertaken the research: "The new Bahian enigma: electoral preferences and ethnic vote in the city of Salvador (1985-2016)". He is Adjunct Professor IV of the UFBa and Associate Research at the research groups The Color of Bahia Program (UFBA) and Public Opinion, Political Marketing and Electoral Behavior (UFMG). He is also a member of the project team "The Collaborative Study of Race in the Americas: Team-building in the 21st Century", coordinated by Dr. Minion K.C. Morrison (UD) and sponsored by the American Political Science Association - APSA (2019-2020). He was chair of the DCP (2012-2016) and coordinator of the Postgraduate Training Extension Course at UFBa/FCC/Ford Foundation (2012 to 2015). Since 2011, he is National Coordinator of the Program of Exchange of Studies on Brazil promoted by the Professional Master's Degree in Public Administration (EAD), Texas Southern University, Houston, TX, USA. He is interested in the areas of electoral studies, political communication, race and politics.

Possui graduação em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBa) (1988), especialização em Estudos Latino-Americanos e mestrado em Sociologia ? Atualmente cumpre estágio de pós-doutorado junto ao Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciência Política da UFMG (Março/2019-20) e da Universidade de Delaware (UD), Newark - USA (Out-Nov/2019), desenvolvendo o projeto de pesquisa: ?O novo enigma baiano: preferências eleitorais e voto étnico na cidade de Salvador (1985-2016)?. É Professor Adjunto IV da UFBa e Pesquisador Associado aos grupos de pesquisa Programa A Cor da Bahia (UFBA) e Opinião Pública, Marketing Político e Comportamento Eleitoral (UFMG). Também integra a equipe do projeto ?The Collaborative Study of Race in the Americas: Team-building in the 21st Century?, coordenado pelo Dr. Minion K.C. Morrison (UD) e financiado pela American Political Science Association ? APSA (2019-2020). Foi chefe do DCP (2012-2016) e coordenador do Curso de extensão de formação para o acesso à pós-graduação na UFBa/FCC/ Fundação Ford (2012 a 2015). Desde 2011, é Coordenador Nacional do Programa de Intercâmbio de Estudos sobre o Brasil promovido pelo Curso de Mestrado Profissional em Administração Pública (Ead) da Texas Southern University, Houston ? TX, USA. Tem interesse nas áreas de estudos eleitorais, comunicação política, raça e política.
