Gustavo Heringer

I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Graduate Program in Applied Ecology (Federal University of Lavras - UFLA) and linked to the Invasion Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation Laboratory where I investigate the role of anthropic factors, such as land-use change, urbanization, and climate change, in the distribution pattern of invasive species. I participated in the international collaboration project "Research-based learning in neglected biodiverse ecosystems of Brazil - BIOBRAS", by the Federal University of Viçosa where I did my first post-doctorate (2018-2019) and, currently, I am a member of the collaboration networks "Global Urban Biological Invasion Consortium - GUBIC "and" InvaCost: assessing the economic costs of biological invasions ". I have experience in the areas of community ecology, landscape ecology, species distribution modeling, taxonomy and ecology of pteridophytes, floristic and phytosociological surveys, environmental management (2011-2014), science and biology teaching (2008-2012) and environmental education ( 2004). Sou pesquisador visitante na Nürtingen-Geislingen University (HfWU), financiado pela Fundação Alexander von Humboldt. Meu interesse é compreender o papel de fatores antrópicos, como mudança no uso da terra, urbanização e mudança climática, no padrão de distribuição de espécies invasoras. Fui pesquisador PNPD (CAPES) no Programa de Pós-graduação em Ecologia Aplicada da Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA) e pesquisador pós-doutor no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Botânica da Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV). Participo das redes de colaboração "Global Urban Biological Invasion Consortium - GUBIC" e "InvaCost: assessing the economic costs of biological invasions". Além disso, contribuí para o projeto internacional "Research-based learning in neglected biodiverse ecosystems of Brazil - BIOBRAS" entre Universidade de Münster - Alemanha, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais e UFV. Tenho experiência também nas áreas de ecologia de comunidade, ecologia de paisagem, modelagem de distribuição de espécies, taxonomia e ecologia de pteridófitas, levantamentos florísticos e fitossociológicos, gestão ambiental (2011-2014), ensino de ciências e de biologia (2008-2012) e educação ambiental (2004).
