Barbara Paci Mazzilli

Bacharel em Química pela Universidade de São Paulo (1975), mestre em Tecnologia Nuclear Básica pelo Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares (1978) e PhD em Radioquímica pela University of London (1982). Realizou pós-doutorado no Hauptabteilung Sicherheit Kernforschungszentrum, Karlsruhe, Germany em 1989; no Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz, München, Germany em 1995 e no Department of Oceanography, Florida State University, USA em 1997. Atualmente é professora e pesquisadora do Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares. É assessora científica de agências de fomento à pesquisa, periódicos científicos e empresas públicas e privadas. É autora de 57 artigos em revistas arbitradas, com 1161 citações e fator H 19 (Web of Science). Tem experiência na área de Radioproteção Ambiental, com ênfase na determinação de radionuclídeos naturais e artificiais em amostras ambientais, contaminação ambiental por Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) e avaliação de risco ambiental. Tem atuado como coordenadora de vários projetos de pesquisa multidisciplinares. Atividades relacionadas com a Agência Internacional de Energia Atômica (IAEA): consultor especialista, representante do Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares junto à rede ALMERA (Analytical Laboratories for the Measurement of Environmental Radioactivity), membro do Standing Advisory Group on Nuclear Applications (SAGNA) de 2015 a 2018, membro da rede ENVIRONET.

Experience in the field of Environmental Radioprotection, acting mainly in the following subjects: determination of artificial and natural radionuclides in environmental samples, NORM and TENORM, and environmental risk assessment. Responsible for several multidisciplinary research projects. Activities related to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA): expert consultant, representative of Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares in the network ALMERA (Analytical Laboratories for the Measurement of Environmental Radioactivity), member of Standing Advisory Group on Nuclear Applications (SAGNA) from 2015 to 2018, member of the network ENVIRONET.
