Fernanda dos Santos Nogueira de Góes
Fernanda has a Bachelor of Nursing (2002) and Doctor in Science (Nursing) (2010), obtained at the Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing, University of São Paulo (Brazil), focused on Nursing Education Research. After that, she joined the same university as Assistant Nursing Professor, teaching at graduate and undergraduate level about didactics, and teaching planning applied for health courses and faculty/academic development. During 2016-2017, she joined the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta. She is an expert on developing and apply innovative pedagogical practices (student-centred, pedagogical cycle) and non-traditional learning strategies (educational technologies, serious games, clinical simulation and others). Also, Fernanda was trained to apply formative/integrative assessment and evaluation at the undergraduate and graduate level. Fernanda uses community engaged learning in her internationally recognized initiatives.
She is most proud of her role in the internationally recognized community engaged learning initiative ?Teaching Community to Avoid Baby?s Gagging.?
She is married and mother of two awesome teenagers.
