Pedro Henrique de Rodrigues Quemel e Assis Santana

Pedro Santana is B.Eng. in Control and Automation Engineering and M. Eng. in Electrical Engineering, both by the University of Brasília (UnB), Brazil.His professional background includes numerous research projects, teaching activities, and periods of work in the industry. His interests include hybrid systems, stochastic filtering, state estimation under restrictions, networked control systems, aerial robotics, and embedded systems.Upon his graduation, he was awarded with the Top Student in Class Award for the highest GPA in UnB's Control and Automation Engineering Class of Fall'08. His undergraduate final project received a graduate student prize at the 1st Annual Young Inventor Award, sponsored by the Federal District's Foundation for Research Support. In order to pursue his PhD degree, he has been granted an International Fulbright Science & Technology Award for Outstanding Foreign Students (Fulbright S&T), sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State.

Pedro Santana é bacharel em Engenharia de Controle e Automação e mestre em Engenharia Elétrica, ambos pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB). Atualmente cursa doutorado no Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics do Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).Sua experiência profissional inclui diversos projetos de pesquisa, atividades de ensino e períodos de trabalho na indústria. Seus interesses de pesquisa incluem sistemas híbridos, filtragem estocástica, estimação sob restrições, sistemas de controle em rede, robótica aérea e sistemas embarcados.Na ocasião de sua formatura, recebeu o prêmio de Aluno Destaque da Turma de Engenharia Mecatrônica do segundo semestre de 2008. Seu projeto final de graduação classificou-se entre os três primeiros colocados da categoria graduado no 1º Prêmio FAPDF Jovem Inventor. Em razão de suas conquistas acadêmicas, recebeu o International Fulbright Science & Technology Award for Outstanding Foreign Students (Fulbright S&T), patrocinado pela Secretaria de Assuntos Educacionais e Culturais (ECA, do inglês Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs) do Departamento de Estado dos EUA.
