Gilberto Alves Araújo

PhD em Estudos do Discurso Midiático pela UNIVERSITY OF THE WITWATERSRAND, Johannesburg, com período sanduíche na UNIVERSITY OF MANNHEIM, Alemanha. É lider do grupo de pesquisa LICEPEX [Linguagem, identidade e cultura: ensino e pesquisa no médio Xingu], membro do GESTO [Grupo Interinstitucional de Estudos do Sentido - UFT] e afiliado à International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR, Madri); é também membro tanto da UNEGRO (União dos Negros e Negras pela Igualdade), quanto da ABPN (Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores Negros). É professor assistente de Língua Inglesa e Literaturas Anglófonas na UFPA (Universidade Federal do Pará), Campus Altamira. Possui Licenciatura Plena em Letras (Inglês e Português) pela Universidade Federal do Tocantins (2009). Foi monitor bolsista pelo PIM dessa mesma universidade durante sua graduação. Foi bolsista CAPES/FULBRIGHT/UNITED STATES EMBASSY (2013), tendo estudado língua, literatura e cultura Americana pela UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE em Newark, EUA. Tem experiência na área de Letras, com ênfase em LÍNGUA INGLESA, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: análise do discurso (crítica e francesa), ensino de língua inglesa e interpretação teatral. É mestre no Ensino de Língua e Literatura (2014), formado pelo PPGL-MELL da UFT (Universidade Federal do Tocantins) na qual desenvolveu um projeto de pesquisa voltado para análise do discurso no ensino de língua inglesa. Estudou também estratégias de ensino de língua estrangeira na UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME em South Bend, EUA. Foi bolsista pela CAPES/FULBRIGHT e atuou como professor de língua e culturas do Brasil na MERCER UNIVERSITY (2014-2015) em Macon, EUA.

Prof. Alves Araújo has been a PhD Candidate and a Teacher Assistant at The University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), with an exchange period at the University of Mannheim (Germany). He works as an Assistant Professor and a Junior Researcher in Discourse Analysis at the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), currently on research leave. He has experience in the area of discourse studies, working mainly on the following topics: French and Critical Discourse Analysis, language/literature learning and teaching. He is a member of UNEGRO (Union of Black People for Equality), ABPN (Brazilian Association of Black Researchers) and IAMCR (International Association of Media and Communication Research), as well as a member of the research groups GIPLES and LICEPEX. Prof. Alves Araújo holds a Master?s Degree by research in Language and Literature Teaching (Universidade Federal do Tocantins ? UFT) and a Bachelor?s/Licentiate Degree in Letters (Portuguese and English language, and respective literatures) from the same university (UFT). He was a CAPES/FULBRIGHT/USA Embassy scholarship grantee (2013), and studied language, literature and American culture at the University of Delaware (USA). Furthermore, he briefly studied strategies for foreign language/literature teaching at the University of Notre Dame (USA). He was a CAPES/FULBRIGHT scholarship grantee and worked as a teacher of Portuguese language and Brazilian cultures at Mercer University (USA). He was also a scholarship grantee and a monitor during his undergraduate studies.
