Mayara de Sá Pinto

In her last year of PhD in Linguistics, Mayara investigates language acquisition working with preschool children in order to understand the cognitive mechanisms that allow them to learn temporal morphemes linked to verbs. Her thesis project, for which she received a Capes ProEx grant (from 2019 to 2022), is under the scope of the Language, Mind and Brain research line of the postgraduate course in Linguistics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Mayara works jointly with the LaPsyDé laboratory (Laboratory for the Psychology of Child Development and Education - Umr Cnrs 8240), where she completed her doctorate exchange, funded by Capes, at the Paris Cité Sorbonne University. From 2018 to 2022, she was a member of the research project The child brain: Acquisition of Language and other cognitions and of the extension project called Videoteca A (acesin.letras.ufrj.br/videoteca-a), for the Syntactic Access Lab (Acesin Lab). In 2019, she completed a master in Psycholinguistics, also at UFRJ. She has experience with experiments using the eye tracking technique (Tobii and EyeLink), as a Syntax and Generative Morphology tutor for undergraduate students and as an assistant in Electroencephalography (EEG) experiments with adults and in psycholinguistic experiments with adults and children. For a few years, she received a PIBIC-CNPq grant in the Scientific Initiation program for undergraduates, and also worked as a tutor for undergraduates in the department of Linguistics and Philology of UFRJ

No seu último ano de doutorado em Linguística, Mayara investiga a aquisição de linguagem por crianças na fase pré-escolar, buscando entender os mecanismos cognitivos que permitem as crianças aprenderem morfemas temporais ligados aos verbos. Seu projeto de tese, para o qual recebeu bolsa Capes ProEx (2019 a 2022), encontra-se na linha de pesquisa Linguagem, Mente e Cérebro do curso de pós-graduação em Linguística pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Mayara trabalha conjuntamente com o laboratório LaPsyDé (Laboratory for the Psychology of Child Development and Education - Umr Cnrs 8240), onde realizou seu doutorado sanduíche, financiado pela Capes, na Universidade Paris Cité Sorbonne. De 2018 a 2022, foi membra do projeto de pesquisa O Cérebro Infantil: Aquisição de Linguagem e outras cognições e do projeto de extensão da Videoteca A (acesin.letras.ufrj.br/videoteca-a), pelo laboratorio de acesso sintatico Acesin. Em 2019, concluiu o curso de Mestrado em Psicolinguística, também pela UFRJ. Tem experiência com experimentos usando a técnica de rastreamento ocular (Tobii e EyeLink), como monitora de Sintaxe e Morfologia Gerativa e como assistente em experimentos com Eletroencefalografia (EEG) com adultos e em experimentos psicolinguísticos com adultos e crianças. Por alguns anos, foi bolsista de monitoria no departamento de Linguistica e Filologia da UFRJ e bolsista PIBIC-CNPq durante a Iniciação Científica.
