Gustavo Lemos Rocha

Trabalhou como membro da equipe de pesquisa do Setor de Bioquímica de Plantas do Laboratório de Química e Função de Proteínas e Peptídeos do Centro de Biociências e Biotecnologia (CBB) da Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro, atuando no estudo de eventos de morte celular programada em tegumentos de sementes de leguminosas, tendo como ênfase, análises bioquímicas e de biologia celular desses eventos em sementes de espécies de plantas filogeneticamente relacionadas no estágio quiescente e em germinação, sendo o foco de trabalho a detecção de atividades de proteases cisteínicas, bem como a caracterização das mesmas no contexto de morte celular programada.

Worked as member of the research team of the Department of Plant Biochemistry at the Laboratory of Chemistry and Function of Proteins and Peptides on the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense, studying events of programmed cell death in seed coats, focusing Biochemistry and Cell Biology analysis in seed coats of plant species phylogenetically related) in quiescent stage and during germination. Other intents of work are the detection and characterization of Cysteine-proteinases activities, since they can be potentially involved in programmed cell death, as well, the analysis of the events by their cellular and molecular markers. The intent of work was to contribute for the knowledge about the programmed cell death events in seed coats and conect them to the physiologic phenomenons of maturation and germination.
