Prof. Dr. Juliano Bandeira Lima

Juliano B. Lima completed the undergraduate course in Electronic Engineering in 2002, and obtained the Master and the PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering in 2004 and 2008, respectively. All titles were obtained by the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). During his PhD, he was part of an internship program at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada). He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Systems at the UFPE. His experience is focused in the areas of Communications and Applied Mathematics, where he has worked as a teacher and researcher and devoted his attention mainly to the following themes: digital signal processing, fast algorithms, cryptography and mathematical tools in finite fields and their applications. He is a permanent member and current coordinator of the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Pernambuco (PPGEE / UFPE), one of the leaders of the Research Group on Digital Signal Processing at UFPE, member of the Research Group on Communications at UFPE, and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

Possui graduação em Engenharia Elétrica, modalidade Eletrônica (2002), mestrado (2004) e doutorado (2008) em Engenharia Elétrica. Todos os títulos foram obtidos pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. Durante o doutorado, realizou estágio na Carleton University (Ottawa, Canadá). Atualmente, é Professor Associado do Departamento de Eletrônica e Sistemas da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Sua experiência concentra-se nas áreas de Comunicações e Matemática Aplicada, em que tem atuado como docente e pesquisador, dedicando-se, principalmente, aos seguintes temas: Processamento Digital de Sinais, algoritmos rápidos, Criptografia e ferramentas matemáticas em corpos finitos e suas aplicações. É docente permanente e atual coordenador do Programa de Pós-graduação em Engenharia Elétrica da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (PPGEE / UFPE), um dos líderes do Grupo de Pesquisa em Processamento Digital de Sinais da UFPE, membro do Grupo de Pesquisa em Comunicações da UFPE e membro Sênior do Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
