Mariano Pimentel

H-INDEX = 27 (http://scholar.google.com/citations?user=_UDWLSwAAAAJ).Mariano Pimentel holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and is a Professor at UNIRIO (Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro), where he works in the Graduate Program in Computer Science and the Bachelor of Information Systems program. He previously taught in the distance learning Pedagogy course at UNIRIO/CEDERJ/UAB for 10 years. In 2012, he was awarded the Jabuti Award for his book Collaborative Systems. Pimentel is the coordinator of the ComunicaTEC research group, which focuses on the development and use of communication technologies for education and collaboration. He also collaborates with the GPDOC - Teaching and Cyberculture Research Group (UFRRJ) and the CIBERDEM - CyberDemocracy Research and Innovation Group (MACKENZIE). Pimentel's research interests include Information Systems, Computer and Education, Collaborative Systems, Education, and Cyberculture.

É coordenador do grupo de pesquisa ComunicaTEC, que pesquisa o desenvolvimento e o uso de tecnologias de comunicação para educação e colaboração.
