Nirson Medeiros da Silva Neto

Associate Professor at the Federal University of Western Pará, where he coordinates the Clinic for Restorative Justice in the Amazon and serves as deputy director of the Institute of Society Sciences. Research Scholar at Governors State University in Chicago's Southland (since September 2021). Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Social and Work Psychology at the University of São Paulo (2018), a PhD in Social Sciences, in the field of Anthropology (2012), a Master?s in Law, with an emphasis on Human Rights (2008), both at the Federal University of Pará, and a Graduate in Higher Education Methodology from the Faculty of Technology of the Amazon (2005). He leads the research group "Restorative justice, peacebuilding and good living: studies around the Brazilian Amazon", registered in the CNPq Directory of Research Groups. He is a facilitator, trainer and consultant in restorative justice. He has experience in the areas of Law, Anthropology and Social Psychology, with emphasis on the themes: restorative justice; consensual forms of conflict resolution; human rights; traditional communities; socio-environmental, identity and ethnic-racial conflicts; ethnic, cultural and territorial rights.

Professor associado da Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará, onde integra a Clínica de Justiça Restaurativa da Amazônia. Foi research scholar na Governors State University in Chicago's Southland (2021-2022). Realizou pós-doutorado no Departamento de Psicologia Social e do Trabalho da Universidade de São Paulo (2016-2018). Possui doutorado em Ciências Sociais, área de Antropologia (2012), e mestrado em Direito, com ênfase em Direitos Humanos (2008), pela Universidade Federal do Pará. Tem especialização em Metodologia da Educação Superior pela Faculdade de Tecnologia da Amazônia (2005). Lidera o grupo de pesquisa "Justiça restaurativa, construção de paz e bem viver: estudos em torno da Amazônia brasileira". É facilitador, instrutor e consultor em justiça restaurativa. Tem experiência nas áreas de Direito, Antropologia e Psicologia Social, com destaque para os seguintes temas: justiça restaurativa; formas consensuais de solução de conflitos; direitos humanos; povos e comunidades tradicionais; conflitos socioambientais, identitários e étnico-raciais; direitos étnicos, culturais e territoriais.
