Deise Benedito

Master in Direct and Criminology University of Brasilia (2019). Graduated in Law from the Asuncion University Center (2005). She is currently working in the House of Representatives' advisory office on issues related to human rights, ethno-racial relations, torture and institutional violence. She was an expert at the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture Prevention (MNPCT) under the Optional Protocol to the United Nations Convention against Torture (OPCAT / UN), Director of Defense and Special Advisor to the Secretariat of Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic. She joined the social movement in the 1980s, was the founder of the Black Women Collective, GELEDES - Institute of Black Women and Black Speech Black Women's Organizations, having participated in the Eco 92- World Conference on Human Rights in Vienna 1993 and a member of the Civil Society Organization Commission, at the Preparatory Conferences, the World Conference against Xenophobia Racism and Related Intolerances, 2001 in South Africa and Member of the Organizing Committee of the National Human Rights Conferences 1995 to 2008. Acts as Speaker and Lecturer at Conferences National and International Against Racism, Penitentiary System and Prevention and Fight against Torture. Black Women and Race Relations and Black Youth. Has experience in Law and Public Administration, acting on the following subjects: training and capacity building of civil society and for public managers in the areas of Human Rights, Gender and Race; Criminal and Penitentiary Policy; Prevention and Fight against Torture.

Mestre em Direto e Criminologia Universidade de Brasília (2019). Graduada em Direito pelo Centro Universitário Assunção(2005). Atualmente, trabalha na assessoria da Câmara dos Deputados em temas relacionados direitos humanos, relações etno-raciais, tortura e violência institucional. Foi perita do Mecanismo Nacional de Prevenção Combate à Tortura (MNPCT) decorrente do Protocolo Facultativo à Convenção das Nações Unidas Contra a Tortura (OPCAT/ONU), Diretora de Defesa e Assessora Especial do Secretaria de Direitos Humanos da Presidência da República. Ingressou no movimento social na década dos anos 80, foi fundadora do Coletivo de Mulheres Negras, GELEDES - Instituto da Mulher Negra e da Fala Preta Organizações de Mulheres Negra, tendo participado da Eco 92- Conferencia Mundial de Direitos Humanos em Viena 1993 e integrante da Comissão de Organização da Sociedade Civil, nas Conferencias Preparatórias a Conferencia Mundial Contra o Racismo Xenofobia e Intolerâncias Correlatas, em 2001 na África do Sul e Membro da Comissão de Organizadora das Conferencias Nacionais de Direitos Humanos 1995 a 2008. Atua como Palestrante e Conferencista em Conferencias Nacionais e Internacionais Contra o Racismo, Sistema Penitenciário e Prevenção e Combate a Tortura. Mulheres Negras e Relações Raciais e Juventude Negra. Tem experiência nas áreas de Direito e Administração Pública, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: formação e capacitação da sociedade civil e para gestores públicos nas áreas de Direitos Humanos, Gênero e Raça; Política Criminal e Penitenciaria; Prevenção e Combate a Tortura.
