He holds a degree in Agronomy Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Amazonia (1981), a Masters in Agronomy (Genetics and Plant Breeding) from the University of São Paulo (1986) and a PhD in Agronomy (Genetics and Plant Breeding) from the University of São Paulo 1995). He is currently a researcher at the Center for Agroforestry Research in Eastern Amazonia. He has experience in the area of Agronomy, with emphasis on Plant Breeding, working mainly on the following topics: amazon, fruit species, fruit species, euterpe oleracea and quantitative genetics. Nowadays, in collaboration with other specialists, it has been developing studies with the approach of local productive arrangements (APL), aiming at socioeconomic studies in support of the production and professionalization of açaí agribusiness, in great expansion in regional, national and international level.
Possui graduação em Engenharia Agronomica pela Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia (1981), mestrado em Agronomia (Genética e Melhoramento de Plantas) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1986) e doutorado em Agronomia (Genética e Melhoramento de Plantas) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1995). Atualmente é pesquisador do Centro de Pesquisa Agroflorestal da Amazonia Oriental. Tem experiência na área de Agronomia, com ênfase em Melhoramento Vegetal, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: amazônia, espécie frutifera, eespécie frutífera, euterpe oleracea e genética quantitativa. Atualmente, em colaboração com outros especialistas, vem desenvolvendo estudos com a abordagem de arranjos produtivos locais (APL), visando estudos socioeconômicos em apoio a produção e a profissionalização do agronegócio do açaí, em grande expansão em nível, regional, nacional e internacional.
