Maria de Fatima Queiroz Vieira

Maria de Fátima Queiroz Vieira received her Degree in Physics from the UFPE in Brazil, in 1975, her Master degree in Electrical Engineering in 1979 from UFPB and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Bradford University, in the UK, in 1986. She is a senior lecturer (Associate level IV) at the Electrical Engineering Department at UFCG, where she works since 1977, both in the undergraduate and graduate levels. There she is the head of the Man Machine Interface Laboratory (LIHM). Since 2003 she works in close cooperation with the Industrial Automation group at the Laboratoire des Sciences de l'Information et des Systèmes (LSIS UMR CNRS 6168), in France, acting as a visiting lecturer and a research partner. Between 2009 -2012 she was an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering in the University of Strathclyde, Scotland UK, Her main research interest is the design and evaluation of human interfaces for Automated Industrial Systems and in particular in the study of the relationship between human errors and the human interface component of those systems.

Maria de Fátima Queiroz Vieira é Bacharel em Física pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1975) e Bacharel em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (1981), é Mestre em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (1979), PhD in Electrical Engineering - pela Bradford University (1985), UK e, realizou estágio pós-doutoral na Universidade d´Aix-Marseille, França (2003-2004). Atualmente é professora titular no Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande (UFCG). Atua na área de Automação Industrial, em Engenharia Elétrica. Foi professora visitante, 2005-2012, no Laboratoire des Sciences de l'Information et des Systèmes ( LSIS UMR CNRS 6168 France ) e no Departamento de Engenharia Industrial da Universidade Paul Cezanne (Aix-Marseille III) na França. Atuou, entre 2009 e 2012 como Honorary Senior Research Fellow no Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, Scotland UK. Seus interesses de pesquisa são voltados para a concepção e avaliação de interfaces com o usuário de sistemas industriais automatizados (hardware e software) e, no desenvolvimento de ferramentas de apoio ao treinamento de operadores de ambientes automatizados, visando a construção de interfaces ergonômicas e a consequente diminuição da ocorrência do erro humano na operação destes sistemas.
