MIGUENS, SERGIO AUGUSTO QUEVEDO

Graduated in Dentistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1985), Specialization in Pediatric Dentistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1987), Master's Degree in Collective Health from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (2004) and PhD in Epidemiology by the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2008). Since 1992 he has been a professor of the Dentistry Course at the Lutheran University of Brazil, participating in the Graduate and Graduate Programs. In 2010 he received the Capes de Teses Award / 2009 in the area of Collective Health. A consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO), he was a member of the Expert Group of the ?Global Consultation on Interventions against Caries in Early Childhood?, as well as the Expert Group of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD) that produced the Bangkok Declaration on Early Childhood Caries (2018-2019). He is the author of 3 books, more than 130 scientific articles with peer review and Organizer of the Guidelines for Clinical Practice in Pediatric Dentistry in Brazil (2020). He works in the areas of Pediatric Dentistry and Epidemiology, with the main focus of research on risk factors and interventions against Early Childhood Caries.

Possui Graduação em Odontologia pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1985), Especialização em Odontopediatria pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1987), Mestrado em Saúde Coletiva pela Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (2004) e Doutorado em Epidemiologia pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2008). Desde 1992 é professor do Curso de Odontologia da Universidade Luterana do Brasil, participando dos Programas de Graduação e Pós-Graduação. Em 2010 recebeu o Prêmio Capes de Teses/2009 na área de Saúde Coletiva. Consultor da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), compôs o Grupo de Experts da ?Consulta Global sobre Intervenções Contra Cárie na Primeira Infância?, assim como o Grupo de Experts da International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD) que produziu a Declaração de Bangkok sobre Cárie na Primeira Infância (2018-2019). É autor de 3 livros, mais de 120 artigos científicos com peer review e Organizador das Diretrizes para Prática Clínica em Odontopediatria do Brasil (2020). Atua nas áreas de Odontopediatria e Epidemiologia, tendo como principal foco de pesquisa fatores de risco e intervenções contra Cárie na Primeira Infância.
