Marcelo Rosa Hatugai

Professor of languages, researcher and international relations representative at the Federal Institute of Science, Technology and Education of São Paulo (IFSP) since 2013, one of the major institutes of Applied Sciences of Brazil. His main research field is in Applied Linguistics, primarily in Technology and Education, Language Learning, English as a Foreign Language and Gamification. His classes engage students in reading and learning English to solve computational problems, develop Arduino, Lego Mindstorms and Scrach projects. He has a M.A. in Applied Linguistics (2006) from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil; Associate degree in Information and Technology for Business (2011) from the São Paulo State Technological Colleges (FATEC), Brazil; B.A. in Language and Literature (2002) from the São Paulo State University (UNESP), Brazil. In addition to Education, he has work experience in software development, AIX system administration, DB2 database administration and SAP support for local and multinational tech companies. He has published 14 papers, and presented studies in conferences and academic meetings.
