Álvaro Luiz de Bortoli

holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1987), a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1990) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1995), in a sandwich program with the DLR - Deutsche Luft- und Raumfahrt (Germany). He did postdoctoral work at the ITV-Institut für Technische Verbrennung at RWTH / Aachen in the area of Combustion. He has experience in Aerospace Engineering, with emphasis on Flows with Chemical Reactions, working mainly on the following topics: fuel cells, combustion, numerical simulation and optimization.

possui graduação em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1987), mestrado em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (1990) e doutorado em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (1995), num programa sanduiche com o DLR - Deutche Luft- und Raumfahrt (Alemanha). Realizou pós-doutorado junto ao ITV - Institut für Technische Verbrennung da RWTH/Aachen na área de Combustão. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Aeroespacial, com ênfase em Escoamentos com Reações Químicas, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: células a combustível, combustão, simulação numérica e otimização.
