BA in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (1993) and degree in English Language Teaching from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2008), with a master's degree and a PhD in English from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2004 and 2009) with a grant from CNPQ and CAPES-PDEE for the sandwich doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh, United States. She did a post doctorate study at the Faculty of Arts (English Department) at the University of Geneva in 2015 with a scholarship from Capes and the project was also accepted by CNPq and recognized with a scholarship of excellence from the University of Geneva and in 2020 another post doc in the University of Valencia (Spain) with a Capes Print Scholarship. Full professor at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) in the Department of Languages, Culture and Education of the Education Center and permanent member of the Postgraduate Program of Education (PPGE) and member of the Permanent Internationalization Committee. She was awarded a Capes Print Scholarship between Nov. 2019 and Jan. 2020 during her 3-month sabatical leave in the Universities of Valencia and Politecnic of Valencia in Spain. President of the Brazilian Association of Hypertext Studies and Educational Technologies - ABEHTE (2012-2013) and President of the Brazilian Association of Applied Linguistics - ALAB (2018-2019). Member of the CT of Andifes / CGRIFES of Linguistic Policy, of the Anpoll GT of Language and Technology and of the Faubai GT of Language Policies. Coordinator and vice-coordinator of the Center for Study and Research on Hypertext and Educational Technology (NEPEHTE) and the Center for International Relations (NERI) at UFES. Leader of the research groups (CNPQ) of Technology and Education and of English and Internationalization and member of the International Group of Studies and Research on Higher Education - GIEPES (CNPQ). Participated in the National Textbook Project for Foreign Languages in the 2014 edict. Has experience in the area of Applied Linguistics and Education, with an emphasis on foreign language education, acting mainly on the following themes: institutional internationalization, language teacher training, citizenship building through language, technology and L2, hybrid and critical approaches to teaching L2, methodology for teaching diverse content through language (CLIL) and language policies. Founder and coordinator of the Iberoamerican Association of Applied Linguistics (AIALA) linked to the World Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA) elected vice-president (2021-2023), president (2024-2026) and past president of AILA (2027-2029). Member of the Advisory Board of Fapes in the area of Linguistics, Letters and Arts.

Foi bolsista do Programa Institucional de Internacionalização Capes Print em 2019 na Espanha, durante sua licença capacitação e em 2020 durante sua licença de pós doutorado com bolsa de professor visitante senior. Professora efetiva da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES) no Departamento de Linguagens, Cultura e Educação do Centro de Educação e membro permanente do Programa de Pós Graduação em Educação na Linha de Educação e Linguagens (PPGE) e membro da Comissão Permanente de Internacionalização. Presidente da Associação Brasileira de Estudos de Hipertexto e Tecnologias Educacionais - ABEHTE (2012-2013) e Presidente da Associação Brasileira de Linguística Aplicada - ALAB (2018-2019). Membro do CT da Andifes/CGRIFES de Política Linguística, do GT da Anpoll de Linguagem e Tecnologia e do GT da Faubai de Políticas Linguísticas. Coordenadora e vice-coordenadora do Núcleo de Estudo e Pesquisa de Hipertexto e Tecnologia Educacional (NEPEHTE) e do Núcleo de Relações Internacionais (NERI) da UFES. Líder do grupo de pesquisa (CNPQ) EMITI (Educação, Multilinguismo, Internacionalização, Tecnologia, Inglês) e membro do Grupo Internacional de Estudos e Pesquisa sobre Educação Superior - GIEPES (CNPQ). Participou do Projeto Nacional do Livro Didático para Línguas Estrangeiras no edital 2014. Tem experiência na área de Linguística Aplicada e Educação, com ênfase em educação de língua estrangeira, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: internacionalização institucional, formação de professores de línguas, construção de cidadania por meio da língua, tecnologia e L2, abordagens híbridas e críticas de ensino de L2, metodologia de ensino de conteúdos diversos por meio da língua (CLIL) e políticas linguísticas. Fundadora e coordenadora da Associação Iberoamericana de Linguística Aplicada (AIALA) vinculada à Associação Mundial de Linguística Aplicada (AILA) eleita para compor a diretoria da AILA na função de vice-presidente (2021-2023), presidente (2024-2026) e past presidente (2027-2029).Membro consultora da Câmara de Assessoramento da Fapes na área de Linguística, Letras e Artes.
