ABELARDO ANTONIO DE ASSUNCAO MONTENEGRO

Graduate Degree in Engenharia Civil from Federal University of Pernambuco (1985), master's Degree in Hydraulics and Sanitation from São Paulo University, São Carlos (1989) and PhD in Water Resources from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne (1997). Prof. A. Montenegro has a post-doctorate in hydrological modeling from the Center for Ecology and Hydrology of Wallingford, England (2008). He has experience in Agricultural Engineering, focusing on Irrigation and Drainage, acting on the following subjects: Semiarid, hydrology, wastewater reuse, geostatistics, and modelling. Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering fromFederal University of Pernambuco (1985), Master Degree in Hydraulics and Sanitation from the University of São Paulo, São Carlos (1989) and Ph.D. in Water Resources - University of Newcastle Upon Tyne (1997). He has a postdoctoral degree in hydrological modeling from the Center for Ecology and Hydrology in Wallingford, England (2008). Visiting Researcher at the Federal University of Viçosa-MG, in 2011, developing studies in Applied Geostatistics. Visiting Researcher at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2012, addressing hydrological and hydro-sedimentological investigations with simulated rainfall. Professor at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, and a permanent member of the Postgraduate Program in Agricultural Engineering at UFRPE. He has experience in Water Resources and Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, with an emphasis on Irrigation and Drainage, working mainly on the following topics: semiarid, watershed management, experimental and numerical hydrology, hydraulics, soil moisture dynamics, environmental services, sanitation and reuse of lower quality water in agriculture, desalination and integrated use of concentrates, water and soil conservation, geostatistics, geoprocessing, water quality, salinity, alluvial recharge and family farming. He was General Research Coordinator at UFRPE between 2014 and 2016. He was also Coordinator of academic and technological activities at UFRPE's Advanced Campuses, between 2016 and 2019. He is currently a member of the CNPq Environmental Sciences Advisory Committee. In addition, he is a member of the São Francisco River Basin Committee. Currently, it is the Coordinator of the Agricultural Engineering Post Graduate Programme at UFRPE.
Possui graduação em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1985), mestrado em Hidráulica e Saneamento pela Universidade de São Paulo, São Carlos (1989) e doutorado em Water Resources - University of Newcastle Upon Tyne (1997). Tem pós-doutorado em modelagem hidrológica pelo Centre for Ecology and Hydrology de Wallingford, Inglaterra (2008). Pesquisador Visitante da Universidade Federal de Viçosa-MG, em 2011, desenvolvendo estudos em Geoestatística Aplicada. Pesquisador Visitante da Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal, em 2012, abordando investigações hidrológicas e hidrossedimentológicas com chuvas simuladas. É professor titular da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco, e membro permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Agrícola da UFRPE. Tem experiência na área de Recursos Hídricos e Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental, com ênfase em Irrigação e Drenagem, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: semiárido, manejo de bacias hidrográficas, hidrologia experimental e numérica, hidráulica, dinâmica de umidade do solo, serviços ambientais, saneamento e reúso de águas de qualidade inferior na agricultura, dessalinizadores e aproveitamento integrado de concentrados, conservação de água e solo, geoestatística, geoprocessamento, qualidade de água, salinidade, recarga em aluviões e agricultura familiar. Foi Coordenador Geral de Pesquisa da UFRPE entre 2014 e 2016. Foi também Coordenador de atividades acadêmicas e tecnológicas nos Campi Avançados da UFRPE, entre 2016 e 2019. É atualmente membro do Comitê Assessor de Ciências Ambientais do CNPq. Adicionalmente, membro titular do Comitê da Bacia Hidrográfica do São Francisco. É coordenador do Programa de Pós Graduação de Engenharia Agrícola da UFRPE.
