Prof. Dr. Edivaldo Domingues Velini

Graduou-se em Engenharia Agronômica pela FCAV / UNESP em 1983. Obteve os títulos de mestre e doutor no programa de Produção Vegetal também pela FCAV / UNESP em 1989 e 1995. A dissertação e tese foram desenvolvidas nos temas matointerferência e métodos experimentais, respectivamente. Especializou-se em análise de resíduos de defensivos pela Japan International Cooperation Agency - JICA - Japão, em 1988. Pós-doutorou-se no tema alelopatia em 1995 pelo Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences - JIRCAS - Japão. Com apoio da Fapesp, realizou estágio de pós-doutorado no Natural Products Utilization Research Unit - NPURU - USDA em Oxford MIssisipi em 2007/2008 em controle de rotas metabólicas tendo desenvolvido projeto específico no controle da síntese de lignina. É professor da FCA / UNESP - Botucatu desde 1985 atuando na área de Plantas Daninhas e Métodos de Controle. É Professor Titular desde 2014. Junto à FEPAF - Fundação de Estudos e Pesquisas Agrícolas e Florestais foi diretor de 1996 a 2000, Diretor Presidente 2002-2008 e Presidente do Conselho de Curadores, de 2009 a 2013. Diretor da FCA / UNESP - Botucatu de 2009-2013, tendo como principal ação a proposição em 2009 e aprovação em 2011 do Curso de Graduação em Engenharia de Bioprocessos e Biotecnologia. Diretor presidente da FUNDUNESP - Fundação para o desenvolvimento da UNESP de 01/2013 a 01/2017. Foi um dos instituidores da Prospecta - Incubadora Tecnológica de Botucatu e do Parque Tecnológico Botucatu, que tem como ênfase: Biotecnologia e Bioprocessos. Foi nomeado presidente da CTNBio - Comissão Técnica Nacional de Biossegurança, para o período de 04 de 2014 a 04 de 2018. Atua na área de Plantas Daninhas e Métodos de Controle tendo como principais linhas de pesquisa: manejo integrado de plantas daninhas em áreas agrícolas e não agrícolas; monitoramento e manejo de plantas aquáticas; desenvolvimento de métodos experimentais e amostrais; estudo da dinâmica de herbicidas no ambiente e nas plantas; racionalização do uso e redução dos riscos associados aos herbicidas; alelopatia.

He graduated in Agronomic Engineering from FCAV / UNESP in 1983. He obtained the master's and doctor's degrees in the Plant Production by FCAV / UNESP in 1989 and 1995. The dissertation and thesis were developed in the subjects weed interference and experimental methods, respectively. He specialized in pesticide residue analysis by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Attended to Pod-doctoral trainings on ?Allelopathy? by the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) and ?Lignin Synthesis? by the Natural Products Utilization Research Unit - NPURU ? USDA at Oxford Missisipi. He has been teaching and researching on weed science at FCA / UNESP - Botucatu since 1985, and became a Full Professor in 2014. He was Director and President of FEPAF - Foundation for Agricultural and Forestry Studies and Research from 1996 to 2000 and from 2002 to 2008, respectively. He was elected to be the Dean of FCA / UNESP - Botucatu from 01/2009 to 01/2013, having as main action the proposal in 2009 and approval in 2011 of the Undergraduate Course in Bioprocess Engineering and Biotechnology. He was the president of FUNDUNESP - Foundation for Developing UNESP from 01/2013 to 01/2017. He was one of the creators of Prospecta - Botucatu Technological Incubator and Botucatu Technological Park, whose emphasis is: Biotechnology and Bioprocesses. He was elected president of CTNBio - National Technical Committee on OGM Biosafety, for the period from 04 of 2014 to 04 of 2018. He works Weed Science with emphasis on integrated weed management in agricultural and non-agricultural areas; aquatic plants monitoring and management; development of experimental and sampling methods; herbicide dynamics in the environment and plants; herbicide use rationalization and risk reduction; allelopathy.
