Director, Designer e Professor-Researcher. Awarded in both bibliographical and artistic production. Bachelor of Performing Arts - Theater Direction by the Federal University of Bahia (1979), Master of Theater Design - Lighting - New York University (1993) and PhD in Performing Arts by the Federal University of Bahia - PPGAC. He received the Capes de Tese Prize - 2014. He was awarded the ABEU / 2018 Prize, 2nd. Place, Category: Linguistics, Letters and Arts, by the book THE LIGHT IN THE GENESIS OF THE SHOW, published by EDUFBA. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Bahia, professor and collaborator at PPGAC / UFBA. He has experience in the field of Arts, with emphasis on Design for the Scene - Lighting and Sets, in the last four decades, having been awarded and received honorary notes as a theatre designer, working mainly in the following themes: theater-design-lightíng, theater direction. Guest artist for the Quadrennial of Prague, 2015, exposing the stageand lighting design for the scene, in Quartet, text by Heiner Muller, a show awarded with the Cenim Prize, 2014, best Brazilian Theatre Lighting Design. Current research topic: Image and scenic-spectacular praxis: visual pathways in transdimensional bodies.

Bacharel em Artes Cênicas - Direção Teatral pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1979), Mestre em Design Teatral - Iluminação - New York University (1993) e Doutor em Artes Cênicas pela Universidade Federal da Bahia - PPGAC. Tem experiência na área de Artes, com ênfase em Design nos campos da cenografia e Iluminação cênica, nas últimas quatro décadas, tendo sido premiado e recebido notas honoríficas como designer de teatro, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: teatro-design-cenografia/iluminação, direção do teatro. Artista convidado para a Quadrienal de Praga, 2015, expondo o projeto de cenografia e iluminação para a cena, no espetáculo Quartet, texto de Heiner Muller, espetáculo premiado com o Prêmio Cenim, 2014, Melhor Iluminação de Espetáculo, no Brasil. Atual tópico de pesquisa: Imagem e praxis cênico-espetacular: percursos de visualidades em corpos transdimensionais.
