Michael Freitas Mohallem

Human Rights Law, Legislative Procedure and Anti-corruption lecturer, lawyer, and senior consultant for Transparency International - Brazil. PhD in Law candidate and LL.M at the University College London (UCL), Postgraduate Degree in Political Science from the University of Brasília (UnB), LLB from the Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) and graduate from the School of Government of São Paulo. Was law professor, head of the Center for Justice and Society and Deputy Director of Undergraduate Program at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) Law School, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), visiting researcher at the European University Institute (EUI), visiting scholar at the Minerva Center for Human Rights at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and researcher for the Oxford Reports on International Law in Domestic Courts project. Has previously worked as Campaigns Director for Avaaz in Brazil, parliamentary advisor in the Brazilian Senate and legal advisor in the Brazilian Ministry of Justice. Currently Board member of the Scientific Committee of the Global Network on Electoral Justice and Advisory Board of the Brazil Social Observatory (Rio de Janeiro).

Professor de Direito nas áreas de Direitos Humanos, Processo Legislativo e Anticorrupção, advogado e consultor sênior da Transparência Internacional - Brasil. Mestre e doutorando em Direito Público e Direitos Humanos pela University College London (UCL), especialista em Ciência Política pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB), graduado em Direito pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) e extensão universitária em Formação de Governantes pela Escola de Governo de São Paulo. Foi professor e coordenador do Centro de Justiça e Sociedade da FGV Direito Rio, visiting researcher no European University Institute (EUI), visiting scholar no Minerva Center for Human Rights da Hebrew University of Jerusalem e pesquisador do projeto Oxford Reports on International Law in Domestic Courts. Atuou como Diretor da organização Avaaz no Brasil, assessor parlamentar da Liderança do Governo no Senado Federal e assessor jurídico no Ministério da Justiça. Integra o Comitê Científico da Global Network on Electoral Justice e o Conselho Consultivo do Observatório Social do Brasil (Rio de Janeiro).
