Laura Moarais Nascimento Silva

Doutoranda no Programa de Pós-graduação em Epidemiologia Experimental Aplicada às Zoonoses da Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia da Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Colabora com o projeto PREVIR (Rede Nacional de Vigilância de Vírus em Animais Silvestres), que realiza a vigilância epidemiológica de patógenos em animais silvestres em parceria com a Rede Vírus - MCTI (Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia, Inovações). É Mestre em Medicina Veterinária pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa - UFV (2020) na linha de pesquisa Biotecnologia, Diagnóstico e Controle de Doenças dos Animais, onde participou do grupo de diagnóstico de COVID-19 da população da macrorregião de Viçosa, MG através de qPCR. Médica Veterinária pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas - UFPel (2018). Durante a graduação foi bolsista de iniciação científica (PBIP-UFPel e FAPERGS) no Laboratório de Virologia e Imunologia Animal (LabVir) (2015 a 2018). Possui experiência na área de Doenças Infecciosas, com ênfase em Virologia Animal, atuando em projetos de pesquisa relacionados ao diagnóstico e estudos genéticos de vírus que afetam animais e humanos, avaliação de compostos antivirais, biologia molecular, bioinformática e virologia clássica.

PhD in progress in the Postgraduate Program in Experimental Epidemiology Applied to Zoonoses of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the University of São Paulo (USP). Collaborator in the PREVIR project (National Network for Surveillance of Viruses in Wild Animals), which carries out epidemiological surveillance of pathogens in wild animals in partnership with the Virus Network - MCTI (Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations). MSc in Veterinary Medicine by the Federal University of Viçosa - UFV (2020) in the research line Biotechnology, Diagnosis and Control of Animal Diseases. Participated in the COVID-19 diagnostic group of the population of the macro-region of Viçosa, MG through qPCR. DMV by the Federal University of Pelotas - UFPel (2018). During the undergraduate education she had a scholarship in scientific initiation (PBIP-UFPel and FAPERGS) at the Laboratory of Virology and Animal Immunology (LabVir) (2015 to 2018). She has experience in the area of Infectious Diseases, with emphasis on Animal Virology, working in research projects related to the diagnosis and genetic studies of viruses that affect animals and humans, evaluation of antiviral compounds, molecular biology, bioinformatics and classical virology.
