José Rodrigo Furlanetto de Azambuja

Holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), 2007, a master's degree in Computer Science from the Postgraduate Program in Computer Science (PPGC), UFRGS, 2010, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from PPGC, UFRGS, and Electrical Engineering, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, 2013. He is currently an associate professor at UFRGS, Chair of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) Rio Grande do Sul Chapter, Vice-Coordinator of the Postgraduate Programin Microelectronics (PGMicro), and IEEE Senior Member. He has experience in the area of Computer Science, with emphasis on Systems Architectures, working mainly on the following topics: GPUs, processors and fault tolerance.

Possui graduação em Engenharia de Computação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), 2007, mestrado em Computação pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Computação (PPGC), UFRGS, 2010, e doutorado em Computação pelo PPGC, UFRGS, e Engenharia Elétrica, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Alemanha, 2013. Atualmente é professor adjunto da UFRGS, presidente do Capítulo Rio Grande do Sul da IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS), vice-coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Microeletrônica (PGMicro) e IEEE Senior Member. Tem experiência na área de Ciência da Computação, com ênfase em Arquiteturas de Sistemas de Computação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: GPUs, processadores e tolerância a falhas.
