Gerontologist and Master in Health Sciences graduated from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), specialist in Neuropsychology from the University of Araraquara (UNIARA), and PhD in Sciences from the Nursing School of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (EERP/USP). He is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Biology of Aging (LABEN) with a FAPESP fellowship. He is the current president of the Brazilian Association of Gerontology (ABG). He has been a temporary professor at the Department of Gerontology at UFSCar. He has developed projects with an emphasis on neuroscience and cognition at the Center for Neuroscience and the Department of Human Development at the University of California, Davis (UCDavis); in addition to that, he was an intern at the Department of Human Ecology at the same university. He developed sandwich doctoral activities at the University of East Anglia, in the United Kingdom. He is member of the groups "Health and Aging", "Laboratory of Evaluation and Intervention in Gerontology (LAIG)", and "Biology of Aging" from the Department of Gerontology at UFSCar and "Nucleus of Research in Nursing in Geriatrics and Gerontology (NUPEGG-EERP)", of the Nursing School of Ribeirão Preto -EERP/USP. He works mainly in the areas of aging, cognition, mental health, neuroscience, dementia, and Alzheimer's Disease biomarkers.
Gerontólogo e mestre em Ciências da Saúde formado pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), especialista em Neuropsicologia pela Universidade de Araraquara (UNIARA) e doutor em Ciências pela Escola de Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto (SP), da Universidade de São Paulo (EERP/USP). É presidente da Associação Brasileira de Gerontologia (ABG). Atuou como professor substituto do Departamento de Gerontologia, da UFSCar. Desenvolveu projetos com ênfase em neurociências e cognição no Centro de Neurociências e no Departamento de Desenvolvimento Humano da Universidade da Califórnia, Davis (UCDavis). Desenvolveu atividades de doutorado sanduíche na Universidade de East Anglia, no Reino Unido. É membro dos grupos "Saúde e Envelhecimento", "Laboratório de Avaliação e Intervenção em Gerontologia (LAIG)" e "Biologia do Envelhecimento" do Departamento de Gerontologia da UFSCar e "Núcleo de Pesquisa em Enfermagem em Geriatria e Gerontologia (NUPEGG-EERP)", da Escola da Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto -EERP/USP. Atua, principalmente, nas áreas de envelhecimento, cognição, saúde mental, neurociência, demências e biomarcadores na Doença de Alzheimer.
