Maria da Graça Muniz Lima

Graça Lima has a PhD in Visual Arts from UFRJ?s School of Fine Arts (2012) and a M.A. in Graphic Design from Rio de Janeiro?s Catholic University (2000). She us currently an Associate Professor at UFRJ?s School of Fine Arts and has an experience in arts/graphic design with an emphasis on the illustration of children?s books. Graça has published more than 100 books with her work in the area of literature for children and youth, which has earned her 4 Jabuti Awards from the Brazilian Chamber of Books (CBL) and another 50 odd awards from the editorial market in Brazil. Outside the country, she has been awarded Peter Pan Prize?s Silver Star (Sweden 2018) and the Prize Image Book (Moscow 2016), in addition to 9 White Ravens Mentions from Germany?s Munich Library. She is a curators? board member of the National Infant and Youth Book Foundation (FNLIJ). Graça Lima represented Brazil (FNLIJ/IBBY-Brazil) in 2019 as a member of the Juri for Bratslava?s Illustration Biennale in Slovakia. In Brazil, Ms. Lima currently coordinates the UFRJ?s LINI (Laboratory for Image Research into Illustration and Narratives).

Possui doutorado em Artes Visuais pela Escola de Belas Artes da UFRJ(2012); Mestrado em Design pela Pontifície Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro -PUC/RJ (2000). Atualmente é Professora Associada na Escola de Belas Artes /UFRJ. Tem experiência na área de Artes /Design, com ênfase em ilustração de livros infantis, Possui mais de 100 livros publicados com seu trabalho na área de literatura para jovens e crianças, o que lhe permitiu 4 Prêmios Jabutis da Camara Brasileira do livro, CBL, e mais de 50 outras premiações na área editorial no Brasil . No exterior recebeu a Silver Star do Peter Pan Prize/ Suécia( 2018) e o Image Book Prize- Moscow(2016) Participa do grupo de curadores na área de ilustração da Fundação Nacional do Livro Infantil e Juvenil - FNLIJ. Representou o Brasil (FNLIJ-IBBY-Brasil) como Juri da Bienal de Ilustração da Bratslava na Eslováquia em 2019 . Coordenadora do LINI - Laboratório de pesquisas da ilustração e narrativas por imagens /UFRJ-BRASIL
