Mario da Silva Garrote Filho

Graduação em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2005), além de Mestrado (2008), Doutorado (2014) e posdoc (2021) por essa mesma instituição. Já trabalhou com a termodinâmico da estabilidade de proteínas e atualmente estuda a resistência osmótica de eritrócitos humanos. É professor universitário desde 2008. Já ministrou as disciplinas de Bioquímica, Biologia Celular, Histologia, dentre outras. Tem trabalhado nas principais universidades brasileiras, como UFG e UFU. Ele adora pesquisar o Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW), que está elevado em diversas doenças crônicas. Foi o primeiro a observar que, em diversas doenças, uma piora do quadro clínico implica em aumento da resistência osmótica. Tem excelentes conhecimentos de bioestatística e de realiza análises básicas a avançadas, incluindo modelagem de equações estruturais (SEM). Possui grande habilidade no uso de softwares estatísticos como SPSS e OriginPro, além de apresentar um elevado conhecimento de fórmulas do Excel. He has degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2005), in addition to a Master's (2008) and Doctorate (2014) from this institution. Posdoctoral by the Biotechnology Institute (IBTEC) of the Federal University of Uberlândia. He has worked on the thermodynamics of protein stability and is currently studying the osmotic resistance of human erythrocytes. He has been a university professor since 2008. He has taught Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Histology, among others. He has worked at leading Brazilian universities such as UFG and UFU. He loves researching the Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW), which is elevated in many chronic diseases. He was the first to observe that, in several diseases, a worsening of the clinical picture implies an increase in osmotic resistance. He has excellent knowledge of biostatistics and performs basic to advanced analysis, including structural equation modeling (SEM). He has great skill in using statistical software such as SPSS and OriginPro, in addition to having a high knowledge about Excel formulas.
