Mestre em Estatística e Experimentação Agronômica pela Universidade de São Paulo (1984). Eng. Agrônomo pela Universidade Federal de Lavras (1979). Pesquisador da Embrapa desde janeiro de 1980. Professor credenciado e orientador na pós graduação da UFPR/Depto de Entomologia, disciplina de Estatística, de 1995 a 2008. Atua nas áreas de Eng. Florestal e Estatística, com ênfase em Manejo de Florestas, Integração de Sistemas, Modelagem Matemática e Serviços Ambientais. Desenvolveu mais de 30 softwares e aplicativos que são utilizados pelo agro brasileiro e de diversos países. Junto à UFPR e a outras Instituições, orientou três dissertações de mestrado e coorientou 16; orientou uma tese de doutorado e coorientou 12. Foi membro de mais de 150 bancas de defesa de teses e dissertações. Professor e orientador do MBA em Gestão Florestal da UFPR. Foi premiado na 4ª e na 8ª Mostra Internacional de Tecnologias para o Agronegócio, ADETEC (1999 e 2003). Recebeu o Prêmio Finep de Inovaçao Tecnológica - FINEP (2000) e a Premiação por Excelência - Destaque Individual da EMBRAPA (2001). Recebeu quatro Prêmios Expressão de Ecologia (2000, 2004, 2007 e 2018) e três Prêmios Ambientais von Martius, pela Câmara de Comércio e Indústria Brasil-Alemanha de São Paulo (2005, 2007 e 2017). Moção de homenagem pela Assembleia Legislativa do Estado do Paraná (2003). Em 2014 teve o Projeto Estradas com Araucárias premiado com o Troféu Frotas e Fretes Verdes. Em 2016 recebeu o Prêmio Socioambiental Chico Mendes, conferido pelo Instituto Internacional Chico Mendes, e em 2017 o Passaporte Responsabilidade Socioambiental - Corpo Diretor, conferido pelo mesmo Instituto. Coordenou o 3º e 4º Encontro Brasileiro de Silvicultura/Expoforest, em Campinas-2014 e em Ribeirão Preto-2018.

He works in Forest Engineering and Statistics, with emphasis on Forest Management, Systems Integration, Mathematical Modeling, Environmental Services and Software Development. In UFPR and other Institutions was advisor of three master's dissertations and co-advisor of 17; advisor of one doctoral thesis and co-advisor of 11. Was a member of more than 150 examination boards of defenses of theses and dissertations. Professor and supervisor of the MBA in Forest Management at UFPR. It was awarded at the 4th and 8th International Exhibition of Technologies for Agribusiness, ADETEC (1999 and 2003). He received the Finep Award for Technological Innovation - FINEP (2000) and the Award for Excellence - Embrapa Individual Award (2001). He was awarded three Environmental Prizes von Martius, by the Brazil-Germany Chamber of Commerce and Industry of São Paulo (2005, 2007 and 2017) and four Ecology Expressions Awards (2000, 2004, 2007 and 2018). In 2016 he received the Socioambiental Chico Mendes Prize, conferred by the Chico Mendes International Institute, and in 2017 the Socioenvironmental Responsibility Passport - Board of Directors, conferred by the same Institute. He was the Technical Coordinator of the 3rd and 4th Brazilian Meeting of Silviculture / Expoforest, in Campinas-2014 and in Ribeirão Preto-2018.
