Post-Doctor in Human Geography at the University of Seville (Spain - 2011); and, in Cultural Tourism, from the University of São Paulo (Brazil - 2005). Doctor (1999) and Master (1993) in Human Geography (FFLCH-USP). Geographer (CREA-CE 42106) and Graduated from the same Faculty, he works as Full Professor (Class E) at the Department of Geography of the Federal University of Ceará, where he has been working since 2005, in Undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral Courses. Researcher in the themes of Geography of Communication: Geographical Imaginary, Representations of Religious Heritage and Festivities in Sanctuaries. It integrates the Network/Observatory of Heritage Landscapes and Latin American Arts (OPPALA) and the Conference of Latin Americanist Geographers (CLAG). At the Laboratory of Geoeducational Studies and Symbolic Spaces (LEGES) at UFC, he develops and guides projects in Higher Education, Artistic Technologies in Teacher Training, Cultural Geography and Symbolic Spaces based on studies of Religiosity, Tourism and Heritage Issues. He is editor-in-chief of the Electronic Journal GEOSABERES and Coordinator of the COMPARE Research Group (Heritage Communication and Representations of Space), where he developed: "Symbolic Heritage Space in Capital Festivals: Intolerance or Religious Pluralism?" (2017/2019), with funding from CNPq/ Currently developing the project: Espaço Symbolico do Carnaval Latino and participating in the "Research Network on Religious Tourism-NE" - with the integrated study: "Hybrid Dynamics of Devotion and Tourism in Sanctuaries- terreiros"
Pós-Doutor em Geografia Humana pela Universidade de Sevilha (Espanha - 2011); e, em Turismo Cultural, pela Universidade de São Paulo (Brasil - 2005). Doutor (1999) e Mestre (1993) em Geografia Humana (FFLCH-USP). Geógrafo (CREA-CE 42106) e Licenciado pela mesma Faculdade. É Professor Titular no Departamento de Geografia da Universidade Federal do Ceará, onde atua, desde 2005, em Cursos de Graduação, Mestrado e Doutorado (PPGGEO). Pesquisador em Geografia Cultural, das Matrizes Religiosas e da Comunicação, trabalha com Imaginário Geográfico, Representações do Patrimônio, Turismo Religioso e Festividades Sacro-Profanas. Integra a Rede/Observatório de Paisagens Patrimoniais e Artes Latino Americanas (OPPALA), a Rede de Pesquisa em turismo Religioso do Nordeste e a Conference of Latin Americanist Geographers (CLAG). No Laboratório de Estudos Geoeducacionais e Espaços Simbólicos (LEGES) da UFC, desenvolve e orienta projetos em Geografia Cultural e Educativa, a partir de estudos de Religiosidade, Turismo e Questão Patrimonial. É editor-chefe da Revista GEOSABERES e Coordenador do Grupo de Pesquisa COLIGAR (Colóquios Interculturais de Geoeducação, Arte-Patrimônio e Religiosidade em Turismo). Entre os projetos aprovados no CNPq, destaca-se atualmente o Projeto "ESPAÇOS SIMBÓLICOS DO CARNAVAL ATLÂNTICO: Mapeamento Cognitivo do Patrimônio Afro-Latino nos Polos de Religiosidade Turística", 2023/2025 (Bolsa Produtividade Nivel2).
