Gulnara Patricia Borja Cabrera

Is MD in Medicine and Surgery of the Ecuador Central University (Quito,1983), MSc (1995) and PhD (2000) in Pathology of the Federal Fluminense University ( Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). Was Post Doc fellow of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Federal University of Minas Gerais ( Brazil). She was Visitant Professor of the Paulo de Góes Microbiology Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiio (2006-2010). Was actively involved in the development of the first second-generation licensed vaccine against canine visceral leishmaniasis Leishmune(R) and in the development of a 3rd generation vaccine against the disease. Has experience in immunological, parasitological and molecular techniques used in diagnosis and vaccination against leishmaniasis. Was Full time Professor at the UNIVALE University/MG, Núcleo de pesquisa em Imunologia until March 2012. Was a Seniur Prometeo researcher at SENESCYT - Universidad Central del Ecuador, Escuela de Ciencias Médicas, Quito, Ecuador until January of 2014. Was delegated by the President of the Republic of Equador to the Council of assessment, accreditation and quality assurance of higher education (CEAACES) in 2014, between 2014-1 2016 was a full time Professor at the UNIVALE University/MG of the Master in Integrated Land Management and and Technical Director of the laboratories of Microbiology and Center for Immunology. From November of 2016 until april of 2019 occupied after university elections the position of vice-rector of investigation, management of the knowledge and postgraduate in the University of Guayaquil in Equador
bachelor's at Doctor En Medicina y Cirugia from Universidad Central Del Ecuador Quito (1983), master's at Pathological Anatomy and Clinical Pathology from Universidade Federal Fluminense (1995) and doctorate at Pathological Anatomy and Clinical Pathology from Universidade Federal Fluminense (2000). Has experience in Immunology, acting on the following subjects: dogs, visceral leishmaniasis, kala-azar, fml and vaccine.
